As part of this overall strategy, a new position of Vice President of Operations has been created to build leadership capacity. This role is a tremendous opportunity for an operational leader to report to and work collaboratively with the Founder/Chief Executive Officer and his advisory group to develop corporate strategy and vision for the company while maintaining the high standards of staff engagement and customer service delivery. The new Vice President of Operations will lead the management team, and Dorigo as a whole, to the next level of growth and operational excellence.

Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Operations will fulfill a critical senior management function, responsible for full oversight of daily operations including the strategic leadership of Dorigo’s management team. The new Vice President of Operations will be accountable for the performance of multiple departments including sales & business development, customer operations, production, engineering and quality control. The Vice President of Operations is also expected to implement the strategic management cycle and be an active and visible leader of growth and development throughout the organization.

We currently have a requirement for a full-time Component Prep Operator to join the inventory department at our facility in Burnaby BC. The successful candidate will be well-organized, detail-oriented and, ideally, possess a solid understanding of electronics manufacutring and circuit board components.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Follow production schedule for the department and inform immediate supervisor/team lead if schedule will not be met.
  • Ensure receipt of proper documentation prior to starting work.
  • Upon receipt of circuit boards, review the documents to ascertain if special prepping for a specific component is required.
  • Review product build assembly drawings for questionable information and review areas of concern with supervisor/lead prior to prepping kit.
  • Fully prep kit per instructions and set aside in designated holding area.
  • Communicate any quality issues or documented discrepancies to immediate supervisor/team lead.
  • Report on relevant key quality and output data, and accept personal accountability to the team.
  • Ensure work area is clean and well-maintained.

  • Under constant to occasional guidance, performs precision assembly tasks from simple to difficult in complexity on Printed Circuit Board, Harness, or other Electro-Mechanical Assemblies following detailed assembly procedures.

  • Uses tools or operates power driven equipment to drill, rivet, crimp and connect wires.
  • Works with color coded materials and documentation.

Dorigo Systems is currently looking to hire an experienced full-time Buyer for our growing EMS manufacturing company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • undertake necessary purchasing activities for turnkey build requirements as outlined by Operations and Business Development departments
  • qualify component costing as researched by Quotations staff and determine best supply options or source alternatives if necessary (includes comparison of vendor pricing, lead times, stock and minimum order quantities)
  • work directly with customers to qualify substitutions or part replacements
  • source direct lead-free (RoHS) replacement parts
  • anticipate long lead time, allocation or other component issues
  • negotiate price, delivery and other special terms with suppliers
  • create, submit, confirm, review, expedite and re-negotiate Purchase Orders as necessary
  • report status of purchasing cycle to Operations department, noting special circumstances, instructions and any expected surplus components at completion of the build
  • research and implement opportunities to reduce total cost and inventory investment
  • assist with data set-up for new materials, vendors and BOMs in company ERP software system
  • develop and maintain supplier relationships, establish business terms, evaluate supplier performance

 Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
