WHO ARE YOU?

We are looking to hire an experienced NPI Product Engineer who will coordinate NPI engineering activities with customers.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY

Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager, the successful candidate must have strong technical knowledge, problem-solving and communication skills, and ability to handle multiple projects in order to play a key role in meeting customer requested delivery terms and assuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.

This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with customers, suppliers, and all internal Dorigo departments (Business Development, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, etc.), to participate in the prototyping process, and to provide DFM reports and guidance to our customers for quality and cost reduction, while working in a fast-paced and innovative environment with state-of-the-art equipment, tools, and MES software.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Acting as a focal point and liaison with customers for all technical communication.
  • Leading NPI projects.
  • Managing all customers engineering documentation.
  • Translating engineering requirements into manufacturing process using MES tools.
  • Developing and managing internal MPIs and coordinating Change Notices.
  • Specifying requirements for new production lines.
  • Specifying requirements for product testing and driving test setup in coordination with customer and test technicians.
  • Offering expertise in customer products.
  • Providing and championing continual improvement suggestions.
  • Solving technical issues escalated by manufacturing engineering and / or quality engineering.
  • Customer sites visits for initial sales engagement.
  • Leading customers through Dorigo’s Engineering On-Boarding Process.
  • Customer sites visits to supports existing product improvement and NPI.
  • Championing cost savings.
  • Reviewing new Manufacturing Inquiry Forms in coordination with the Quotation Engineer.

YOU NEED THE FOLLOWING TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Post-Secondary Diploma in Science or Engineering discipline
  • Knowledge of ERP software, BOM structures, routings
  • MES knowledge (FLx preferred)
  • CAD software knowledge (Solidworks preferred)
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings and components datasheets
  • Analytical, detail-oriented and strong customer skills
  • Excellent problem analysis, problem-solving skills and creativity in process design
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to handle pressurized situation and multiple deadlines
  • Experience with: NPI, Customer Interaction, Project Management, Assembly Processes, especially post-SMT (Selective Solder, Wave Solder, Hand Solder, Mechanical, Conformal Coating), Test Engineering, Lean Concepts, and DFM
