We are looking to add a driven, accountable and collaborative Assistant Accounting Manager to our team to play a major role in our operational transformation.  Working closely with the corporate management team and reporting to the Manager of Corporate Accounting, the Assistant Accounting Manager will maintain accountability for company financials, and lead the administrative and accounting departments in pursuit of Dorigo's primary goal: providing a seamless customer experience at the lowest total cost.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Full handling of daily accounts payable (AP) activity, including vendor management;
  • Receipt, verification and entry of vendor invoices; resolution of invoice discrepancies;
  • Issue cheques and coordinate wire transfer to vendors;
  • Review and reconciliation of company bank accounts and credit card statements;
  • Full handling of accounts receivable (AR) activity including customer credit review;
  • Daily account collections via email and/or phone; receipt and verification of incoming payments; daily bank deposit preparation;
  • Full handling of payroll and admin matters and support of certain human resources (HR) functions including company benefits and RRSP programs;
  • Processing of monthly company GST and PST returns and quarterly Work Safe BC returns;
  • Manage month-end functions, including prompt reconciliation and closing of accounting system modules and preparation of GL journal entries;
  • Ensure accurate financial reports are generated in timely manner for management's review;
  • Coordinate with and support company purchasing department;
  • Oversee accounting and administrative departments;

Job Skills:

  • 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience within the manufacturing industry, and working toward a CPA designation;
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Should possess a strong work ethic, be self-directed, determined, customer/team oriented, energetic and enthusiastic; 
  • Must be proficient with computers, particularly the Microsoft Office suite of tools (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.), and working knowledge of ERP software and/or Microsoft Office SharePoint is an asset;
  • Previous experience within electronics manufacturing is an asset, as is exposure to an ISO (9001) environment;
  • Proven record of success in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment;
  • Attention to detail, result and goal-oriented;
  • Strong English communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a team player with all levels of the company, and interface with customers, suppliers and other interested parties
