We currently have a requirement for a full-time Manufacturing Technologist to join manufacturing operations at our facility in Burnaby BC. This individual's main responsibility will be to work closely with production operators, manufacturing engineers and company leadership to oversee the use of on-site manufacturing equipment.  The successful candidate will be a versatile self-starter with strong communication skills and technical aptitude.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Program and operate CNC-based machines (i.e. selective solder, automated router)
  • Identify and troubleshoot process, material or equipment problems to minimize downtime and recommend solutions to the manufacturing engineering team.
  • Develop, assemble, procure or modify existing and new tooling, fixtures and equipment to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Assist manufacturing engineers with revisions and improvements to manufacturing methods and procedures.
  • Complete time studies to quantify processing times and identify areas for process improvements.
  • Assist with hands-on training of manufacturing employees on new products, tooling, equipment and process revisions.
  • Schedule, complete and document routine maintenance on applicable manufacturing and test equipment.
  • Assist with hands-on training of manufacturing employees on new products, tooling, equipment and process revisions.

  • Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming manufactured product to determine root cause.
  • Perform tests, gather data and write results/reports with assistance from Manufacturing Engineering, utilizing various types of electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Daily monitoring of chemistry levels and cleanliness of board washers.
  • Promote and support continuous improvement activities in manufacturing.
  • Comply with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements per the Dorigo QMS.
  • Support periodic volume increases through testing of production product following applicable processes and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by manufacturing engineers.

Job Skills and Qualification:

  • Diploma of Technology in Mechanical, Electrical or similar post-secondary education.
  • Familiar with CNC machine programming.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.
  • Hands-on skills in using hand tools and precision measurement tools.
  • Familiar with manufacturing principles.
  • Exposure to IPC-610, ISO 9001 and 5S is an asset.
  • Understanding of through-hole soldering process is an asset.
