We currently have a requirement for a full-time Quotation Engineer to join manufacturing operations at our facility in Burnaby. Reporting to our Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating quoting activities and evaluating designs for customers.  The main focus is to correctly identify customer technical requirements and evaluate product documentation to quote the best manufacturing processes for quality product and efficient production.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Organize and properly maintain product documentation database.
  • Review customer-supplied documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Review quotation documents to ensure internal assembly capabilities are met.
  • Identify the correct process steps involved with the product manufacturing and generate the manufacturing inquiry form.
  • Specify parameters for paste stencils, soldering materials, cleaning chemistry, product testing, conformal coating, tools and assembly jigs.
  • Identify PCB complexity and obtain PCB quotes.
  • Provide customers with feedback on design for manufacturing.
  • Assist customers with design and manufacturing questions.
  • Work closely with Process Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers during NPI activities.
  • Participate as a member or lead various technical internal projects.
  • Implement lean methodologies to create efficiencies and reduce waste.
  • Work on other various duties and projects as assigned by department manager.

 

Job Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or post-secondary diploma in Science or Engineering discipline required.
  • Detailed electronics component packages knowledge.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings and components datasheets.
  • Knowledge of BOM structures
  • Analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes, materials and equipment
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Exposure/experience with Project Management and Lean Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of standard IPC-A-610 and ERP software is an asset
  • Experience with Aegis CircuitCam or other CAD software is an asset.
  • Experience working in an EMS environment is an asset.
